What is Galactic Conquest?
Star Wars: Galactic Conquest is an open-galaxy Post-by-Post Role Playing Forum based in the much loved Star Wars Universe. If you want to take the reigns of your own galaxy spanning Faction or delve deep into the mysteries of the Force as a pious Jedi or a scheming Sith then Galactic Conquest is the place for you. This forum offers you the chance to play out the Star Wars Stories you've always wanted to come to life whilst also developing your literary, writing and storytelling skills within a comfortable and constructive environment. Our community originated as group of like minded people Role Playing our own Star Wars characters on the popular chatroom game Habbo Hotel, but we have since moved on from that game and role playing format and fostered our own separate community focused primarily on in depth post-based storytelling.

What is Post-by-Post?
Post-by-Post is the term we've given to our primary method of Role Playing on this Forum. It allows our members to immerse themselves in the setting of their own choosing within the Star Wars galaxy and develop their Factions or Characters personal stories and developments without the restrictions of a chatroom whist also giving them a canvas to create their own in depth arc. In order to keep our writing standards and content within the bands of reasonable quality we operate a 250 word minimum on all of our main Post-by-Post Role Playing. The minimum is in place to simply prompt our members to drive themselves to create short yet good quality posts to drive to community's greater story line. There are exceptions to this rule however! In the sections such as Rumours and Happenings and the HoloNet Newsfeed. Rumours and Happenings is a section dedicated to whispers on the space winds, small hints at developing stories or gossip from the metropolitan planets across the galaxy. The HoloNet Newsfeed is a galactic communications grid developed, used, and maintained by the greater galaxy. The HoloNet is a near-instantaneous communications network used to provide a free flow of holographic communication and information and though anchorman New Stories you write can be as big or small as you like.
How does Post-by-Post work?
Post-by-Post is simple to get the hang of and the best way to explain is to just use an example.
Example: Jake started a post where his faction (Faction #1) has invaded Sophie's Planet (Faction#2 & Planet X). Because Jake started the initial post he is Poster#1 and Sophie as the Defender is Poster#2. Adam (Faction#3) through Role Play in the past with Sophie is an ally of her Faction and is obligated to help her defend Planet X. Adam is Poster#3 in this order.
JAKE > SOPHIE > ADAM = REPEAT
If anyone else decided to get involved in the situation developing at Planet X they would simply join onto the end of the current posting order.
What is the 24 hour rule?
Although Galactic Conquest is predominantly a creative space there is also an element of strategy and competitiveness as members throughout the community seek to gain an edge against those they deem opponents within the greater story. The age old rivalries that exist between certain factions is a massive contributor to the progession of Galactic Affairs. It is Star WARS after all. So in light of that aspect of our Role Play we the 24 hour rule.

In the event of Role-players interacting with each other in a thread/post then each role-player is given a mandatory minimum time period of twenty-four hours to post before their 'turn' may be skipped and the next role-player who is involved in the thread may post.
